DOVA temporary presents [RE]-VIEW, showcasing work from 2009 graduates of the University of Chicago MFA program in visual arts. Curated by art history graduate student, Maggie Taft, the exhibition features work in a wide range of media including sculpture, video, painting, installation, and photography. Acknowledging the conditions giving rise to this show, the exhibition is both a literal review of the work the graduates produced during their time in the MFA program and also a thematization of this concept of re-view as a concern for both art production and productive viewership. The eight participating artists explore this notion in a variety of ways, including in terms of memory, reproduction, documentation, disorientation, nostalgia, and mapping. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
